Sheherd's Pie Easy Dinner

Alright today let's tackle the question that generally comes up everyday, what's for dinner? My go to easy prep and cook dinner is shepherd's pie, which is why its the first one I am writing about. It is mainly made with hamburger, tomato soup, corn, mashed potatoes, and cheese. I can take care of a couple kids or involve them and get this done in about 45 minutes with only the first 15 minutes or so really need attention. Another great thing about the prep is browning ground beef is not always crucial so if you have to take care of a kid issue you can step away for a few minutes. I start the oven then get the ground beef in the pan first thing. Then add salt, pepper, and chopped onion. While that is cooking I put the corn and tomato soup in a baking dish. Next cook the instant mashed potatoes and set aside if beef is not done. Once the beef is done it is added to the baking dish and topped with the mashed potatoes. Now the hard part is over, cover and stick in the oven for 30 minutes. Most the time this is where I do some cleaning. After it has finished baking set aside, remove the cover, add cheese, and recover. Honestly I do not measure out the amount of cheese just enough to cover the potatoes. Couple minutes later you are ready to serve and eat. You can substitute some of these ingredients for whatever reason. Common subs are cream of mushroom instead of tomato soup and green beans instead of corn.
